A New Chapter: Books, Music, Art, Faith, and Creativity

I’m excited to announce that I’m creating a new design for my author website, DoyleWelborn.com. This new website will serve as a central home for my books, music, artwork, creative projects, and other interests.

My goal is to build more than an author’s website. I want it to become a welcoming place where visitors can explore uplifting ideas, discover creative resources, and share in a journey centered on faith, purposeful living, family, and the joy of creating.

Writing has given me an opportunity to share lessons, experiences, encouragement, and ideas that I hope will help others. Whether the subject is faith, successful living, personal growth, hobbies, or creativity, I want every book to offer something meaningful and useful.

I will continue adding new titles, updates, and information as the website grows.

Music has also become an important part of my creative journey. The new website will provide links to my songs and albums on major streaming platforms, including:

Many of my songs are inspired by faith, Scripture, the love of Christ, and the challenges and victories we experience in life. Through country gospel, worship, orchestral, Celtic-inspired, and contemporary musical styles, I hope to create songs that encourage listeners and point hearts toward God.

My creative interests include landscapes, nature, rural life, nostalgic scenes, abstract art, and the beauty of Southeast Texas—especially the Big Thicket National Preserve and its surrounding communities.

Many images are available as wall art and on a variety of products. I enjoy creating artwork that brings back treasured memories, celebrates the natural world, and adds warmth and beauty to a home.

Nostalgic Christmas Card Studio

I recently finished a special little website called Nostalgic Christmas Card Studio. This project was created to give everyone an opportunity to design free, customized Christmas cards inspired by the warmth and beauty of Christmases from years gone by.

The studio celebrates several beloved vintage styles, including cheerful 1950s Christmas illustrations, elegant Victorian and Edwardian cards, rustic country scenes, and traditional winter landscapes.

Christmas cards have always been more than decorations. They are small gifts of remembrance, kindness, faith, and love. I hope the Nostalgic Christmas Card Studio helps families and friends create something personal that they will enjoy sharing during the Christmas season.

Creativity With a Greater Purpose

Although these projects include books, music, art, hobbies, and technology, they share a common purpose: to spread the Word of God, encourage others, and enjoy the creative gifts He has given us.

I believe creativity can be a form of service. A song can offer hope to someone who is struggling. A book can provide encouragement or a new direction. A painting can bring peace to a room. A Christmas card can remind someone that they are remembered and loved.

Not every project has to be complicated or serious. Sometimes creativity simply gives us a reason to smile, learn something new, spend time together, and enjoy the journey. Faith and joy belong together, and I hope that spirit is reflected throughout everything I create and share.

3 Possibilities: Who Was Jesus

In the realm of theological discussions, one topic that has been at the forefront for centuries is the identity of Jesus Christ. We will (very briefly) delve into the three possibilities that have been raised regarding the nature of Jesus and explore the implications of each.

1. Was Jesus Delusional?

  One possibility raised by skeptics is that Jesus may have been delusional. However, a closer examination of his life and teachings suggests otherwise. Delusional individuals often exhibit erratic behavior and eccentricities. They might engage in bizarre actions that draw attention, such as wearing strange attire or talking to themselves in public. In contrast, Jesus' ministry was characterized by a profound sense of purpose and coherence. He preached profound truths and performed miracles that left a lasting impact on those who witnessed them. His actions were not those of a madman but rather of a man with a divine mission.

 2. Was He a Con Man or Miracle Worker?

   Another theory posits that Jesus could have been a skilled con artist, using sleight of hand or tricks to deceive people into believing in his divine nature. However, this theory falls short when we consider the nature of his miracles. Jesus didn't resort to stage tricks to amaze his audience; he performed acts that defied the laws of nature. Healing a man born blind, for example, was a miracle witnessed by the entire town, leaving no room for doubt. What's more, none of his disciples ever came forward with a "tell-all" book claiming that his works were fraudulent, unlike some modern-day charlatans.

 3. The One Possibility: Jesus Is Who He Said He Is:

   After examining the other possibilities, we are left with a singular, compelling conclusion: Jesus is who he claimed to be. From a Baptist perspective, this aligns with the foundational belief that Jesus is the Son of God and the savior of humanity. As Acts 4:12 states, "There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." The evidence of his divinity, through his teachings, fulfillment of prophecies, and miraculous works, strongly supports this perspective.

 Conclusion:

In exploring the three possibilities regarding the nature of Jesus (in the briefest summary possible), it becomes evident that the idea of Jesus being delusional or a con man does not align with the historical accounts of his life and ministry. Instead, the conclusion that Jesus is who he claimed to be, the Son of God and the savior of humanity, resonates deeply with the beliefs of the Baptist tradition. Embracing this truth is at the core of the Christian faith and provides a firm foundation for the spiritual journey of believers.
